Last year we finally completed our action comedy, Leverage. We started pre-production in 2019, and ran a crowd funding campaign in February of 2020, and ended it the first week of March… and then our production was ended by covid.
In late 2020 we shot First Impressions as an attempt to still make something but we kept it simple and only a few people so we could be safe under covid restrictions.
In spring 2022 we started gearing up and then realized we didn’t have time to get to it before the brutal summer and didn’t want to shoot fight scenes in the Texas heat so we made Looking Back.
And finally in April of 2023 we started shooting Leverage. It was six days across three months and it was the toughest and most fun thing we’ve ever made. We made an action comedy that has the most ridiculous characters and situations but the action is so freakin’ cool! Exactly what I my original vision was. I wanted people to leave laughing about the characters but then turn to their friend and talk about how cool the fight scenes were! Everyone who worked on this film was amazing, cast and crew. I couldn’t have been happier with the entire production!
We premiered it on Halloween 2023 at Filmquest in Utah, which is one of the best genre festivals in the world!
From there we’ve played seven more festivals and won a combined 14 awards for the film! You can see more details about the fests and awards on the Leverage page of this site. Hopefully we’ll be coming to a city near you this year!
