If you haven’t seen our film “Looking Back” yet, it’s online for you to view! You can check out the page for the film to see all the cool places we played with this film and all the awards we won. It was a fun trip around the fest circuit with this one!
It came from a concept I had probably 8-10 years ago about a ghost in the backup camera of a car. I didn’t want it to just be a quick silly joke so I filed it away until I could find the right way to tell it. One night a few years later it all clicked together and it became this weird genre mish mash of comedy, drama, and horror… and also kinda sweet? It’s fun! Check it out and share with your friends!
We’re running a crowdfunding campaign for our new short film, It’s Hard Not to be Romantic About Time Travel! It’s a proof of concept short for a feature that we’re really excited about getting out there into the world!
It’s a story about Swann, a man recently released from prison after serving a five-year sentence for a crime he didn’t commit, who’s angry and looking for revenge.
His best friend Randall offers him a chance to discover the truth about what happened by traveling back in time to find the real perpetrator… using the power of love to travel through time!
The film is full of absurd concepts, witty dialogue, and ridiculous villains, and the feature film will tell a story of love overcoming anger, pushing past grudges, and finding a way forward. Oh, and did I mention that they have to get high to travel through time? Yeah, that’s a big part of it, too.
Leverage is still churning along with 28 fest acceptances and 19 awards so far… it’s been a fun ride! Which is fitting since it’s such a fun movie to watch!
But while that film is wrapping up it’s run, we’re rolling out our next short, The Time Capsule!
After the big production that was Leverage, and two hybrid comedies in a row, I just wanted to do something simple and short and really funny…. and that was the birth of The Time Capsule! We screened it for an audience last week and it killed! It’s so silly and so weird and so much fun and I can’t want to get it out there for more people to see it!
So if we’re screening near you come hang out and laugh with us and then maybe we can grab a Wendy’s meal afterwards or something!
In 2025 I’m looking to get back to a feature, working through rewrites on a script that I love, hopefully we’ll get there soon!
Last year we finally completed our action comedy, Leverage. We started pre-production in 2019, and ran a crowd funding campaign in February of 2020, and ended it the first week of March… and then our production was ended by covid.
In late 2020 we shot First Impressions as an attempt to still make something but we kept it simple and only a few people so we could be safe under covid restrictions.
In spring 2022 we started gearing up and then realized we didn’t have time to get to it before the brutal summer and didn’t want to shoot fight scenes in the Texas heat so we made Looking Back.
And finally in April of 2023 we started shooting Leverage. It was six days across three months and it was the toughest and most fun thing we’ve ever made. We made an action comedy that has the most ridiculous characters and situations but the action is so freakin’ cool! Exactly what I my original vision was. I wanted people to leave laughing about the characters but then turn to their friend and talk about how cool the fight scenes were! Everyone who worked on this film was amazing, cast and crew. I couldn’t have been happier with the entire production!
We premiered it on Halloween 2023 at Filmquest in Utah, which is one of the best genre festivals in the world!
From there we’ve played seven more festivals and won a combined 14 awards for the film! You can see more details about the fests and awards on the Leverage page of this site. Hopefully we’ll be coming to a city near you this year!
I guess it’s been a year since I updated this thing. Oops!
Looking Back finished out last summer by playing Dances with Films, Atlanta Underground, GenreBlast, Hill Country Film Festival, Panther City, Waco Independent and Tyler Film Festival.
We have two local screenings coming up in Austin in the next few months and then we’ll be premiering it online! We really had a blast with this one and we were blessed to travel all over with it and win 7 awards. I can’t wait to get it online for everyone to see!
First Impressions is now live for everyone to see! We had a blast on the festival circuit with this one and I’m psyched for everyone to see how fun this one is!
Austin Revolution Film Festival: Erik Anderson won Actor of the Year for You’re the Puppet and Leonard apparently got a make out session with one of the presenters!
First Impressions also brought home Best Texas Short Comedy!
